Psychic Abilities…It’s Really No Mystery
Sometimes I have had clients who were in awe about some of the things I knew about them. They wonder, “How did you know that?” Well, it really isn’t a mystery. I tell my clients that everyone has the same ability to sense what I can, but some never develop it. While I don’t believe anyone can be or even should be a psychic, I believe everyone has the potential to heighten their awareness about certain events and situations in their lives…this is called being intuitive.
When I first started to understand what my psychic abilities were for myself, I asked my father why other people couldn’t see what I could. He said, “Well, you have trouble remembering people’s names, don’t you?” I agreed. “Same thing.” People are born with certain natural abilities, whether that be to remember names, be professional-level athletes, or seeing a person’s past, present and future. Psychics do not create the past, present or future. What I have realized is that the information all comes from the same place–whether you call it god/spirit/universe/etc.–the psychic’s “special talent” is being able to receive this information and interpret it accurately.
Natural-Born Psychics vs. Professionally Trained Psychics
Perhaps I am a bit biased when I say that natural-born psychics are slightly more powerful than professionally trained psychics. Those who are genetically pre-dispositioned to heightened awareness and acting as “receptors” usually start receiving information rapidly at a very early age. Even natural-born psychics who have turned off their abilities can usually develop their ability at a slightly faster rate than those who were not necessarily born with the ability to receive information rapidly. Because natural-born psychics may be stronger, it does not always mean that they are better or more accurate than professionally trained ones. There is still that human element of error. Even though natural-born psychics may be able to sense information more easily and more readily, it does not mean that they are always going to be good at interpreting that information.
Not all natural-born psychics and healers are aware they have these gifts. Many natural-born psychics can go throughout their lives believing psychic phenomena is nothing but pish-posh and it lays dormant all their lives. They may suddenly pick up a deck of Tarot cards and without picking up a single book to interpret the cards and be able to describe someone’s life withn a very small margin of error. People who are professionally trained can rarely do this. Although it may take them longer to begin giving accurate readings, it doesn’t always mean they will never be as good as a person who has natural abilities. I would also suggest that it is more common for natural-born psychics to easily have or develop more than one psychic area in a relatively short period of time.
My short explanation for this bias is “reincarnation.” A natural-born psychic with very strong abilities most often is a person who has been developing their gifts over a period of several lifetimes. A soul that has learned the lessons of previous lives will build upon its psychic ability and connection to “the Higher Power.” Natural-born psychics of this time were trained-psychics of another lifetime. We are all continually developing our gifts.
What Psychics Do
Although there has been a positive light shed upon the profession, there are still many people, even some psychics themselves, who do not understand what psychics do. Psychics are not the witches you see in movies or read about in fairy tales. They do not put curses on people. They do not make people do things against their will. In the most simplified way imaginable, I would suggest that psychics are little more than interpreters. Instead of translating between people of different countries, psychics interpret between beings of different realms of reality. Psychics show where someone has been, where they are and the likely outcome of what can happen if they choose the path they are on. Though I do not believe our earth-bound conscious selves have complete free-will, I believe we are allowed to make changes in our lives that can be very significant. Likewise, I do not believe that all psychics can accurately interpret information about future events 100% of the time.
With all of this being said, I like to emphasize that psychics have a tremendous amount of personal responsibility they must live with. Psychics are consulting people about personal issues that are very important. Psychics can influence the choices people make. This is why it is very important that a psychic operates within a strict code of ethics. Psychics who are not careful, have the potential to ruin the lives of their clients—and others around them.
Psychics and Accurate Predictions
Without fail, almost every client I have had who came to me about a problem has asked me “when” something will happen. I have also asked more powerful psychics when things would happen. Usually, we are wrong…or are we? In my development, I have realized that predictions of time can be more accurate if they are wrong. What you may need to understand is the following:
1. Spirit and spirit guides have absolutely no concern for time. What may seem like decades to us, is only a split second to them. If I tell you that you will find a new job in two months, it’s not necessarily that I am trying to give you hope, I have to interpret Spirit’s favorite word concerning time: “soon”. If the Tarot spread shows me 3, I have to determine if this number is referring to weeks, months or years.
2. When powerful psychics give you an exact frame of time, I find the second biggest reason why psychics may be giving out this information is because Spirit or Spirit guides are trying to move my clients into a certain position for a positive outcome to happen. A powerful psychic I knew told me in the spring of 2007 that I would be going back to Japan by September of that year. I left the last week in October. Was she wrong? I don’t believe she was. Spirit wanted me to hurry up and make the move to Japan in order for a succession of positive events to start happening. Had she told me the exact date, I most certainly would have procrastinated, thinking I had plenty of time to decide if it was something I wanted to do.
Why Can’t a Psychic Tell Me Everything?
Simply put, psychics are not here to tell us everything. That wouldn’t be very fun, would it? I used to ask psychics what my soul mate looked like. They gave me similar details, and eventually, I started to see him on my own. I saw things about him and his life that psychics did not tell me, but later verified. I could see everything except for his face. I asked my mentor why I couldn’t see his face and she simply replied, “Because you weren’t meant to.” Psychics cannot tell you everything because they aren’t meant to. They are more about telling you information that you need to know in your life to make clearer choices.
Very nice post. I appreciate your comments concerning natural-born versus professionally trained and I sit on the fence concerning where I am in that mix. I didn’t grow up with a family that fostered psychic development but worked at it on my own and found that I “caught on” pretty quickly. Now it’s second nature. Really appreciated this post.
